With it’s long coastline down the Adriatic Sea and an abundance of natural parks Croatia is among one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. In order to get the most of this trip we flew into Zagreb, the capitol and decided to drive south until we reached Dubrovnik. Stopping in places like the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Split and Hvar it exceeded my expectations and fulfilled my deep yearning for adventure. With a day trip to Montenegro to go white water rafting, I’m convinced Croatia has the clearest water (although the Maldives is a tough competitor). When you drive into Dubrovnik from the north you see the walled city below with orange roofs surrounded by turquoise clear water - one of the most breathtaking things I’ve ever seen. I know there’s more than way one to visit, but I highly recommend renting a car and driving down the coast like I did. You won’t be disappointed! Pro tip: Croatia is split into two parts and separated by narrow portion of Bosnia, so make sure the rental car company allows you to drive your car through a different country.
